Michael Ball frustrated with Everton decision making v Watford
Everton managed a frustrating 0-0 draw against Watford in the Premier League on Wednesday (11 May) at Vicarage Road.
Every point matters, and the Toffees will take it as positive, especially after Leeds United lost 3-0 against Chelsea at Elland Road.
However, the performance was disappointing, and Michael Ball has vented his frustration on Twitter after the game, suggesting the decision making should have been better.
Ball wrote: “Set pieces need a lot of work. Point away from home – but against a poor Watford side it’s not good enough. The reality is our quality and decision making in the final third is very poor.”
Spot on
The Toffees were really flat in the first half, but they raised their game in the second.
Watford didn’t create enough chances and that the Toffees defence and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford were hardly tested.
It comes as a surprise that Everton were so nervous in their approach. They were cautious, and the decision to play a five-man defensive system is baffling.
This is a game the Toffees should have won, considering Watford were without several of their key players.

There is an overall lack of quality in the side, and that is something Lampard will address in the summer transfer window.
The decision making has been really poor. In the first half, Anthony Gordon got two brilliant opportunities to pass the ball first-time, but he dithered.
In the second half, Alex Iwobi and Vitalli Mykolenko produced some brilliant crosses but there were no one to get to the end of it.
The lack of confidence away from home was clearly evident, but considering the circumstances, Everton will happily take the point.
