Patrick Boyland shares footage of Everton fans after 0-0 v Watford
Everton earned a frustrating 0-0 draw against Watford on Wednesday night (11 May) at the Vicarage Road.
The Toffees could not create enough clear-cut opportunities, although the performance was better in the second half.
The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland has shared on Twitter the footage of Everton fans signing Frank Lampard’s name after the final whistle.
Boyland wrote on Twitter: “Everton fans chant Frank Lampard’s name at full time. Frustrating evening but they were superb once again.”
Solidarity
Once again, the fans have been simply superb.
A few weeks ago, the team was completely broken and the club was struggling to find hope. But what a show of solidarity!
The fans stayed behind in the stadium to support the team after the Toffees earned a 2-1 win against Leicester, and they did show their loyalty once again, despite a frustrating result.
Frank Lampard also showed that everyone need to stay together in this fight by taking the likes of Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina with the side, even though they were not in the playing squad.
In terms of results, it was poor. This was a game the Toffees should have killed their opponent as Watford were missing several of their first team players.

Roy Hodgson made as many as six changes to the side, but Everton failed to capitalise on that.
The first half was really poor. There was no effort on target while the five-man defensive set up looked useless.
Watford hardly created any chances, and Lampard should have rather used another midfielder to exert influence in this game.
The performance improved in the second half, but the end product was missing.
