Rondon’s tackle was ‘horrible and born out of frustration’ says Graeme Souness after Everton’s Brentford defeat
Graeme Souness has labelled Everton striker Soloman Rondon’s red card as “horrible” but “born out of frustration” after the Toffees’ defeat to Brentford.
Rondon was sent off in the 88th minute for a tackle on Rico Henry, with Michael Oliver showing no hesitation in sending off the forward.
Souness suggests that the game situation had drawn the tackle from Rondon.

Talking on Sky Sports Main Event [06:45pm, 15 May] Souness said: “It was a clumsy and horrible tackle.
“But I must add that it was born out of frustration cause of how the game had gone for Everton.”
Awful weekend
Having two players sent off, losing the game and having your rivals win is a pretty bad weekend for Everton.
The Toffees must beat Crystal Palace if they want to avoid any last day nerves at the Emirates on Sunday [22 May].
Palace, much like Brentford, have nothing to play for.
However, this can sometimes be a worrying thing with teams coming out and playing without any fear and plenty of freedom.

Palace will certainly have ambitions of finishing their positive season on a high.
How Frank Lampard picks his side up from the anti-climax against Brentford remains to be seen.
Everton’s two most recent displays have been worrying.
It felt as if just showing up would get them the points against Watford and Brentford and that has dramatically backfired.
If the Toffees face having to get something at the Emirates on the final day then it will be extremely worrying times for the Goodison Park faithful.
