However, according to a new report, as the Toffees have retained their place in top-flight football, the Magpies have now turned attention toward Reims young striker Hugo Ekitike.

To make things a little complicated for the Toon Army, German club Borussia Dortmund are also eyeing a move for the 19-year-old as a replacement for Erling Haaland.

It is also believed that along with the England international, the future of other two star players — Richarlison and Pickford — might change as well with the club securing their place in the next season’s Premier League.

Major boost

Calvert-Lewin along with Richarlison were the key players of the Everton in the recently concluded campaign and their presence at the club will be a boost for the Toffees’ chances next season as well.

Despite having injury concerns, Calvert-Lewin scored five goals and two assists in just 18 appearances, meanwhile, Richarlison notched up 11 goals and five assists in 33 matches in the 2021-22 season.

Other than that, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also played a huge role in keeping Everton’s place in the Premier League despite conceding 66 goals.

Even if the trio stay at the club, Frank Lampard’s side definitely needs to make some moves in the transfer window in order to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season.

The Goodison Park faithful will be hoping that the top-tier management will learn from their mistakes in the recent past so that the Toffees are not caught up in a relegation dogfight next season as well.
