Sky Sports pundit predicts Frank Lampard to get rid of Everton striker Salomon Rondon
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Salomon Rondon’s time as an Everton player could be a short one as Frank Lampard will likely want someone “younger” and “more lively” says Kevin Campbell.
The 32-year-old was brought in by former boss Rafael Benitez on a free transfer before the season, but only scored three goals in all competitions across 23 appearances for the Toffees.
His arrival was a symbol of the reduced financial means at the club after the free-spending Farhad Moshiri era finally caught up with him, and although he signed a two-year contract Sky Sports pundit Campbell doesn’t think the current boss will see the value in keeping him.

When asked if the Venezuela has a role going forward he told Goodison News: “I’m not so sure. I think Frank Lampard’s going to have to mould and shape that squad to how he sees fit.
“I think for what Rondon brings to the table I think he could get someone younger in, and more lively.
“Although Rondon’s been holding it up, he’s got Calvert-Lewin and he’s got Richarlison to do that.
“So it’s not as if Rondon is needed in that way.”

After he was sent off for a mindless two-footed lunge in the defeat to Brentford when Premier League survival was on the line, he may not get a chance to make amends.
Although the money worries continue, staying in the top flight will at least ease them slightly, and Lampard is sure to want to instigate as much of an overhaul as he can.
Various players will be in line to leave if destinations can be found, and it looks like the former West Brom and Newcastle striker is going to be one of them.
In other Everton news, Leeds and Burnley made a pact to support each other against the Toffees whichever one went down.
