Jose Enrique urges Newcastle to sign Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin in ‘world class’ verdict
Jose Enrique has mentioned Everton man Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the same breath as he urged Newcastle to sign a ‘world class’ striker.
The Toon have been given “new encouragement” in their efforts to prise the England international away from Goodison Park in the summer transfer window as closest rivals Arsenal prioritise Gabriel Jesus.
Despite Eddie Howe having several options upfront, the former Liverpool player urged the former Bournemouth manager to make his move.

Enrique told bettingexpert: “I believe they (Newcastle United) should bring in a world-class striker. Even if they have Callum Wilson and Chris Wood. It depends on Eddie (Howe) on what he sees every day in training.
“They were talking about (Dominic) Calvert-Lewin. I really, really like Calvert-Lewin. Same thing again, he had big problems with injuries this season so I’m not sure if Newcastle will sign him but obviously Eddie knows him well.”
Unbelievable.
Surely Calvert-Lewin won’t ditch Everton for newly rich Newcastle? The only thing they can offer him is a lot more money but he is hardly on bad wages with the Blues so that wouldn’t make sense.
Unless he wants a new challenge there is no reason for him to leave because hopefully, the Toffees will be back to business soon.

The last few seasons have been horrible and nearly getting relegated was undoubtedly the icing on the cake but there is hope under Frank Lampard.
The former Chelsea boss has restored the hope around the club and Farhad Moshiri needs to avoid sacking him regardless of the team’s form next season.
Obviously, if it is a complete catastrophe a conversation may need to be had but rebuilding takes time and continuously sacking managers and bringing in someone else with new ideas is never going to work.
Calvert-Lewin would be far better off seeing out his Everton career on a high rather than tarnishing his legacy for more money.
