Everton must sell Allan to build team for future

Everton midfielder Allan has been linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window, according to Goal.

The Brazil international has just one year left on his current contract with the Liverpool-based club.

There have been reports of interest from the Italian club Lazio where Maurizio Sarri is keen on working with the same player with whom he had an exceptional time during his days at Napoli.

The midfielder has played 52 games for the Toffees across all competitions ever since joining the club in the summer of 2020 from Italian club Napoli in a deal worth £21.24 million.

Time to move on

If Everton decide to sell Allan, it might prove to be a move that can be considered a good one for both parties. Sarri has always preferred an ideal passer in his midfield engine and he believes that Allan can be that guy.

If you look at his performances while playing for Sarri at Napoli, you can understand why the Italian manager wants him. On the other hand, Allan at 31 might not be that influential in Lampard’s pressing system for a long period of time.

Also, keeping him for another year will mean that Everton will not get any fee in return for the midfielder leaving the club in the summer of 2023.

Against the big teams, putting Allan in will be a disastrous move as he won’t have the mobility to counter the wave of attacks that the stronger teams showcase.

It looks like the right time to part ways with the Brazilian, and recouping some money will help with the rebuild – you have got to be smart with your dealings.
