Everton coach Duncan Ferguson not in talks with Blackburn to become their manager
Everton coach Duncan Ferguson is ‘completely unaware’ of any interest from Blackburn Rovers to become their new manager, according to Liverpool Echo.
The Toffees legend is currently part of Frank Lampard’s backroom staff at Goodison Park after a second spell as interim manager saw him overlooked for the top job once again in mid-season.
Rumours emerged on Monday [May 30, ESPN] that the Championship club had made him their priority target for the role and that he had been interviewed, but a fresh report from Liverpool Echo [May 31] claims that is totally false.

According to their report, Ferguson himself has told colleagues at Everton that he is ‘completely unaware’ of any interest from Rovers and there have been ‘no talks whatsoever’ about him leaving the club.
Ferguson has admitted in the past however that he wants to become a first-team manager at some point in the future, with his ultimate goal to be the boss at Everton.
Hallelujah
Thank goodness that Big Dunc isn’t going anywhere, because this club does not need to lose top quality people like him from around the place.
His coaching credentials are certainly under question, and that’s why he never got the job in the first place. However that doesn’t mean he isn’t a huge presence behind the scenes on the training ground and in the dressing room.

If Lampard lost him from his backroom team it would be almost impossible for him to be directly replaced and the club wouldn’t be the same without him.
With that said, if the interest was genuine and the man himself was keen to leave then the club would owe it to him to allow that to happen.
He has given everything for this club during his time here and will surely continue to do so until the time is right for him to move on. Thankfully that isn’t now.
