Several senior Everton men set for exit amid major multi million windfall
Everton are set for a £12million per year windfall with a host of senior players set to leave over the summer, according to Vinny O’Connor.
Frank Lampard is set to undergo a major overhaul of the Blues’ squad ahead of next season having only just survived relegation in the last campaign – securing safety in their penultimate game against Crystal Palace.
The Toffees boss is said to be focused on strengthening the spine of the team, with several departures making room in the squad and on the wage bill for signings in the summer transfer window.

O’Connor told Sky Sports: “Clearly Everton need to overhaul the spine of their team and a lot will depend on who they are able to move on. Frank Lampard does not want Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison to go. So if either were to leave it would take a sizeable fee to even tempt Everton to do business.
“Strengthening the spine of the team is a priority. A centre-half will be brought in. Yerry Mina simply has not been available for enough games and James Tarkowski has been sounded out over a potential move from Burnley on a free.
“With Fabian Delph, Cenk Tosun, Jonjoe Kenny and Gylfi Sigurdsson all out of contract, that’s over £250k a week off the wage bill. And the loan deals for El Ghazi and Van de Beek will not be made permanent.
“Lampard will also prioritise strengthening his midfield options. At this stage, a move away for Andre Gomes would probably be in the best interests of club and player. While sensible offers for Allan would also be considered.
“The interest in Brennan Johnson also shows how Lampard is trying to bolster his options in the final third. Again it would make financial sense if Everton were also able to offload Salomon Rondon.”
About time.
Finally, this squad is being pulled apart – it has needed a major overhaul like this for years now.

There are too many passengers in the squad who are happy enough to just coast by and get paid ridiculous amounts to do so.
Not anymore though – the big-name senior players such as Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph that were supposed to come in and make a big impact will hopefully be moved on.
They need to be replaced with younger hungrier players with far smaller egos and will actually fight for the badge they are wearing.
Make no mistake, last season was a disgrace but it might be the best thing to happen to this club when looking back in years to come.
Now, the owners are taking notice and all of the evidence is there for Lampard to get the support he needs in the window. The most important thing is that the Toffees learn from past mistakes.
