Everton want to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Salomon

Everton are in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s attacker Manor Salomon this summer transfer window, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The 22-year-old was thought to be heading to Premier League newcomers Fulham but that deal appears to have hit a snag which has opened the door for a number of other English sides to get involved in the battle.

The Toffees are one of those hoping to swoop in and steal the Israeli international from the Cottagers along with Arsenal, Southampton, Aston Villa and Brighton.

The current war situation in Ukraine means that Shakhtar have been unable to play league games for a few months and their players have been allowed to leave if they can find a new club which is why Torino have also joined the race to sign Salomon.

A deal to sign the 22-year-old would cost roughly £7.6million with the majority of that price spread over a few seasons which would massively benefit Everton if they could pull it off.

Go for it

Salomon must be a very good player with a very high ceiling to have this many clubs all chasing his signature so Everton really need to pull their finger out and get going on negotiations for the Israeli if they can.

The horrifying terror occurring in Ukraine right now doesn’t make this kind of deal an easy thing to pull off but the majority of the players and staff have been able to flee the country and get to safety which is a relief.

If they are prepared to begin talks over future transfers, then we should waste no time in getting the wheels turning on this and hopefully beat the other Premier League sides to the punch and nab him from under their noses.

We saw last summer though that we brought in two new wingers and neither pulled up any tress after the honeymoon phase of the first couple of months passed so we have to be sure Salomon is the guy for us before we do anything else.

In other Everton news, we could regret letting David Unsworth go as he is now being linked with the manager’s job at a Championship club.
