Everton must sell star defender Yerry Mina to fund major summer rebuild
Everton need to cash in on star defender Yerry Mina in the summer transfer window amid interest from Ligue 1 side Marseille, according to Columbia Detail Zero.
Jorge Sampaoli is looking to bolster his squad ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League in the 2022/23 season.
The Columbia international is undoubtedly the Toffees’ best centre-back but he struggled to stay fit last season – only making 13 Premier League appearances.

It would be smart for Frank Lampard and co to move the defender on this summer when they can still recoup a decent fee for him before his contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Aged 27, his fitness record isn’t likely to get any better as he soon approaches the end of his prime playing days.
Needs must.
If Everton are to undergo a major rebuild over the summer, they simply have to sell one or two players for a sizeable fee.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been regularly mooted to go to generate some funds for signings but if the Blues manage to sell Mina and several other important – but not essential – players, that could be enough.
Lampard will certainly want to keep hold of the key players in the squad and whilst the centre-back is great, his injury record has let the Merseysiders down far too often.
The Toffees could easily get around £20million for his services with Marseille now in the Champions League.
That money can be used to develop the squad not only now but for the future because as things stand – Mina doesn’t look to be playing a big role in the new era of the Goodison Park outfit – unless he can massively change his injury record.
