Fabian Delph expected to leave Everton on free transfer
Fabian Delph is expected to leave Everton when his contract expires at the end of the month, according to a fresh report by the Daily Mail [June 8].
The former England international joined the club from Manchester City on a free transfer in 2019 but has struggled with injuries throughout his time on Merseyside.
After making just 11 appearances in all competitions during the 2021/22 season, the club have made the decision not to offer him an extension and he will leave Goodison Park when his deal expires on June 30th.

Delph is said to earn “close to £100,000 per week” according to The Athletic, but his time in the famous blue shirt has been a major disappointment.
He had a huge impact upon returning from injury at the back end of the 2021/22 season as he helped the club survive relegation with massive performances against Chelsea and Manchester United in particular, but it wasn’t enough to convince Frank Lampard.
Bye bye
It was a gamble when he was signed, albeit one that could have been a real masterstroke, but it simply hasn’t worked out.
Delph arrived as a multiple time Premier League champion who could play in midfield and also at left-back and brought great leadership and technical qualities to the team.

But just like the majority of his career, he couldn’t keep fit to have an extended run in the team and it’s just been a complete waste of time and money to keep him on the books.
Lampard this summer has a chance to bolster his squad accordingly and mould it into something that can play the type of football he wants to play, while moving away from relegation battles and making the squad younger.
That means Delph has to go and it seems like the right time for all parties to let the contract expire and move on with their own paths.
