Everton star Richarlison in advanced talks with Tottenham over £51.2m transfer

Everton are in advanced negotiations with Tottenham over a £51.2m transfer for forward Richarlison, according to reliable journalist Bruno Andrade [June 11].

The Brazilian has been linked with an exit away from Goodison Park after helping the club to escape relegation in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season.

And now according to Andrade, who was speaking on his personal Twitter account, the player has already discussed a contract with the north London club as the two teams edge towards a mega-money deal.

“Richarlison is in advanced negotiations to switch from Everton to Tottenham,” he said, translated from Portuguese. “The value of the negotiation is around 60 million euros. Brazilian striker already discusses contract with Spurs.”

It’s believed that Richarlison is looking to leave the club to play Champions League football, although there have been no public statements from either the club or player about where he will be playing his football in the new season.

Major

If Richarlison leaves the club it will be a major blow for Everton as a club and as a squad, because he was one of few who stood up to be counted in the bad times last season.

The club are in an awful position financially currently and because of those performances last season, as well as his age, he is one of the biggest assets that the club have, so it’s no surprise there is major interest.

Everton

Spurs are able to offer him Champions League football, but he will be competing with Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura for a spot in the starting lineup.

For Everton the £51m would go a long way to helping the club, but it will cost a big chunk of that to replace his quality, energy and goals and avoid being in a worse position.

It’s not a surprise that he’ll leave, especially at that price, but it’s a dying shame we can’t keep him around.
