Harry Redknapp: Everton will struggle if they do not raise funds from Richarlison sale
Harry Redknapp believes that Everton may have to sell Richarlison this summer in order to raise funds and build a better team.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Premier League manager has sent a message to Frank Lampard and has stated that the Toffees will struggle if they go into next season with the same team they have at the moment.
Redknapp admits that the best player needs to be sold in scenarios where the club does not have enough money to strengthen.
He said, “He [Richarlison] has got ability, there is no doubt about that. He can drive you mad though at times when you see him diving about, and whatever he gets up to.
“He can certainly play, though, and scores, and he has managed to get assists. But if Frank has no money to spend, he is going to have to sell. Sometimes you have to sell your best player to try and get two or three in.
“He [Lampard] needs to strengthen that team. That team that Everton have got at the moment, they are going to struggle.
“I am desperate for them [Everton] to do well, I kicked every ball with Frank this season, but I think they are going to be struggling again.”
It’s hard to disagree with Redknapp, given how the Toffees are in the midst of FFP issues and a potential points deduction.
With the Brazilian likely to have made his mind up about an exit, it makes sense to cash in on him.

His comments in the last few weeks indicate that he’s looking for a new challenge and taking a step up in his career.
Everton cannot fault him for his service as he’s been committed right until the final game.
He’s also won over the fans and is an important part of the dressing room – a professional who got on with many head coaches.
However, the time appears to have arrived for the club to say farewell to one of the most important players of the last decade.
This will certainly worry fans as they’ll be losing one of the few game changers in their side and it remains to be seen if the club are competent enough to sign an adept replacement.
Hopefully, they manage to receive a decent transfer fee in exchange of his services which they can then go on to rebuild the squad.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have submitted a bid to seal a major summer signing and the player is already on his way to England.
