Everton make approach to sign 22-year-old Burnley attacker Dwight McNeil
Everton have “asked about” 22-year-old Burnley forward Dwight McNeil along with a host of Premier League clubs according to 90min.
90min reported [16 June] that the Toffees along with Tottenham, West Ham, Brentford, Fulham and Newcastle have all approached the relegated Clarets to enquire about the forward.
The 22-year-old endured a miserable campaign for Burnley as he supplied just one assist throughout the whole 2021/22 Premier League season and didn’t score once.

Tough one
This is a tough one for Frank Lampard to mull over because there certainly needs to be a focus on younger players at Goodison Park this summer, but McNeil’s poor 2021/22 season cannot be ignored.
At 22, the winger is coming to a point in his career where he needs to find his level and rediscover some of the good form he has previously shown for the Clarets.
He has plenty of experience for such a young age and would most likely be a good signing for Everton, but questions have to be asked over his failure to produce any attacking output in the 2021/22 season.
New Burnley manager Vincent Kompany may be inclined to listen to offers for the youngster with McNeil one of Burnley’s most valuable assets at present.

Selling the winger could generate funds for Kompany to revamp his squad.
With McNeil having two years left on his contract, with Burnley holding the option of an extra year, he won’t come cheap.
It is a move Lampard should be looking to avoid.
In other Everton news, the star man could reportedly leave for as little as £35million as he heads towards an exit from the club.
