Everton must sign Fabien Centonze as new £2.5million bargain fee shared
Everton need to sign defender Fabien Centonze for a steal price after his transfer fee plummeted after FC Metz’ relegation from Ligue 1.
According to The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland [24 December 2021], the Blues were tracking the 26-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.
Then in April [21], The Telegraph reported that the right-back had admirers at Goodison Park.

Before Metz’ relegation from Ligue 1, the Frenchman was said to be worth up to £8million.
However, according to a report by FootMercato Cetonnze will be available for as little as £2.5million as the French side look to balance their finances.
Don’t let the Maroons’ relegation fool you into thinking the stalwart is no good because he was actually one of their better performers, but it was the car crash of a team around him that did the damage.
A £2.5million fee for a player that Everton expressed interest in previously simply can’t be turned down – especially when you consider the current crisis developing at right-back.

Jonjoe Kenny departed Goodison Park this week in search of a new challenge and thank god he did because he obviously wasn’t good enough to be a part of Frank Lampard’s project.
Seamus Coleman hasn’t looked like the same player at right-back for a very long time also. Aged 33, he is definitely on the decline and given the fact he is such an important player not only in the team but in the squad, he will need replacing.
Of course, the Blues do have starlet Nathan Patterson at their disposal but he is still very much teething on Merseyside.
He is a top player and will undoubtedly be Everton’s number one right back very soon but he will need back up and Centonze could be the perfect man for the job.
