Everton yet to make bid for Fenerbahce defender Kim Min Jae
Fenerbahce are yet to receive a bid from Everton, or any other club, for their star defender Kim Min Jae, according to Korean journalist Jason Lee.
The Toffees were thought to have submitted their first bid to the Turkish side, according to Sabah on 2 June, but Lee, who writes for popular Baseball website Jays Journal alongside his coverage of South Korean football, believes that no offer has been received.
La Liga side Sevilla are also keeping a close eye on the situation for the 25-year-old in Turkey, as Lee reported via his personal Twitter account.
Crucially for the Turkish Super League outfit, The South Korean international is not currently trying to force or demand a move away from the club and should he still be contracted to them come to the start of pre-season, he will take part as normal.
With no bid formally submitted to Fenerbahce, it looks increasingly likely that will be the case but that could all change as soon as one team pull the trigger.
Get ahead
The only reason we would be listed among the teams supposedly chasing his signature is if there was a genuine interest on our side so we must rate him fairly high compared to our current crop of defenders.
With no bids submitted to Fenerbahce whatsoever, we have the chance to get ahead of every other side in this oddly slow transfer race and see how the Turks are going to handle the negotiations.

We don’t have to even pay whatever they are likely to ask for straight away either if there is no other side actively trying to sign him so we have the chance to play the long game and potentially get a steal in a key area of the pitch.
Frank Lampard should be doing everything he can to sort out that abysmal defence that was bailed out on so many occasions by Jordan Pickford during the 2021-22 season and Kim Min Jae could be the first of the lot to sign on the dotted line.
In other Everton news, Farhad Moshiri is hoping that he can keep a 10% stake in the football club if he sells up to the Peter Kenyon-led consortium.
