Everton among nine clubs in race to sign Christian Eriksen

Everton have reportedly made contact along with eight other clubs to sign free agent Christian Eriksen this summer.

According to Football London, the race is heating up for the Denmark international with nine clubs, including a La Liga outfit, have touched base with the 30-year-old’s representatives.

The Daily Mail reported on June 15 that the Toffees have already made an offer to secure his services and are now waiting on his decision.

Big name player

Eriksen’s future is up in the air and we’re expecting a decision from him sooner rather than later with so many clubs keen on his services.

It’s understood that Tottenham and Manchester United are looking at signing him while the player could fancy staying in London.

This also makes West Ham and Brentford as probable destinations for the Danish playmaker in the coming weeks.

However, if he wants to work under Frank Lampard and be part of a revolution at Goodison Park, then the club will welcome him with open arms.

He will undoubtedly add a bit of a bite to the Blues midfield and give Lampard a different option in the final third as well.

His versatility coupled with his footballing brain will make him a fascinating signing for whichever club manages to get their hands on him in this window.

The Guardian recently reported that Manchester United have been turned down by Eriksen which leads to the question as to the type of club he wants to join.

We’re hoping that he comes to Merseyside and plays for Everton.
