Everton in the hunt for Tyler Adams, player wants Leeds United move

Everton are in the race to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams, but they face competition from Sevilla and Leeds United, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The CBSSportsGolazo journalist wrote on Twitter on 2 July that the player wants a loan move to Leeds United and has already spoken with the Whites boss, Jesse Marsch.

RB Leipzig are open to a deal for the 23-year-old United States midfielder.

Terrific addition

Adams would be a fantastic addition to the Toffees side but they need to move quickly.

This has been a tough transfer window for the Toffees. They have only managed to sign one player on a free transfer and let go their talisman Richarlison who has recently joined Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £60 million.

The Brazilian’s departure is a massive blow for the club, but it also gives the opportunity to rebuild with fresh additions.

Everton

Bolstering the midfield is necessary for Frank Lampard. Fabian Delph left the club following the expiry of his contract, while doubts remain over the long-term futures of Allan and Andre Gomes.

Tom Davies hardly featured last season and he has a big task on his hand to impress his manager, which means Frank Lampard needs to add depth in the midfield ranks.

Adams has got international experience and has made over 100 appearances for Leipzig. He is a young, energetic and mobile midfielder.

The fact that he is available on loan should tempt cash-strapped Everton into doing business, but the competition, in this case, is high.
