Everton want to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams – report

Everton are interested in making a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams in the ongoing transfer window, according to German media outlet Bild.

The USMNT midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club this summer in order to get more first-team minutes under his belt.

Previously, Adams has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds as a possible replacement for Kalvin Phillips who is set to join Manchester City.

The report further stated that the deal regarding the future of the 23-year-old can be concluded quickly and that the German club are expected to accept a proposal in the region of £13million for the player.

Time to move quick

Everton are having a difficult transfer window where not only they’ve failed to bring in any player but they’ve also let go a star player like Richarlison who has recently joined Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £60 million.

While The Brazil international’s departure was a big blow for the Toffees, an even more concerning aspect of their transfer window would’ve been that they have not been able to reinforce the defensive unit that nearly cost them their Premier League spot in the previous campaign.

Signing someone like Taylor might prove to be the first step in that direction as the player will be happy to give his all in a World Cup year.

Adams has been a Leipzig player since January 2019 when he moved from New York Red Bulls in a deal worth £2.37 million.

Since then, the defensive midfielder has represented his current club in 101 matches across all competitions where he managed to score twice and provided four assists as well [Transfermarkt].
