Sources close to Farhad Moshiri cause shock after Everton takeover bombshell, owner now looking at transfers

Sources close to Farhad Moshiri caused shock on Friday by insisting that the Peter Kenyon-led consortium Everton takeover bid was off, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the consortium, bankrolled by Maciek Kaminski, are currently unaware of the negotiations coming to an end.

Instead, they are said to be working with lawyers to find an agreement and the proof of funds that comes along with that for the deal.

What is now clear, is that with this indecision, any takeover is now in serious doubt.

It is said that Moshiri is now concentrating on completing the new stadium as well as strengthening the squad for Frank Lampard ahead of the new Premier League season.

James Tarkowski is yet to be announced despite the deal being done, and Jesse Lingard is said to be the next target now for a possible free-agent move [Liverpool Echo].

There isn’t even a chance of those talks being revived for the takeover according to the source close to Moshiri, so it looks like he will be fronting the transfer business – much to our disappointment.

Who to believe?

So, we have a classic stand-off.

The Kenyon-led consortium believe that negotiations are still ongoing, but yet those close to Moshiri believe that any potential deal is off – so where does that leave us?

We begged Moshiri to come out and break his silence after the disaster of last season ended, and he did that, but we are already in a position where we know nothing again.

It is beyond belief that our board have left us in the dark and something needs to be said about this whole debacle before it does start to effect matters on the pitch and in the squad.

Moshiri is said to be concentrating on transfers and strengthening this squad, but yet we have made no real significant steps with Richarlison leaving.

Something positive needs to happen soon, whether that be a big Everton transfer or something edging this takeover closer, because as things stand, Moshiri is just making a mess of things yet again.
