Everton must not accept Jesse Lingard demand of £150k-a-week salary
Everton are going through a transitional phase after a difficult campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.
One of the key areas where manager Frank Lampard is keen to strengthen is the attacking front, especially after the departure of Richarlison.
For this reason, the Toffees have been linked with a number of players in the ongoing transfer window and one of them is former Manchester United man Jesse Lingard.

As per Football Insider, the winger, who has also been attracting interest from the likes of West Ham, will be open to a move to a club if his demand of a contract worth £150,000 per week is met.
It was only four years ago when Lingard was somewhat at the peak of his powers for both Manchester United and England.
In his former club, he used to score important goals against rival sides and became a permanent starter for the 2018 World Cup side. Arguably his best time came with West Ham during a short loan spell where he was simply unstoppable to play against.
But the last season was more of a horrid dream for both United and Lingard which led to the players’ departure as a free agent.
One of the reasons why Everton struggled so much last season was that they hardly managed to spend any money on new players because of the poor financial decisions of the past.

They have given huge contracts to the likes of Andre Gomes and James Rodriguez who contributed to the collapse of the overall structure of the club in the previous campaign.
Currently, centre-back Yerry Mina is the highest earner at Everton with a salary of £120,000-a-week [Salary Sport].
Those numbers are astronomical considering that the Colombia international struggled with injuries over the seasons. Committing a mistake is fine but not learning from it can be termed at the very least negligence of the highest calibre.
Therefore, it is important that Everton should not make the kind of exemptions to sign a player like Lingard who some days might be a world-class talent, but on others, is extremely average at best.
