Watford sporting director provides update on future of Everton target Emmanuel Dennis

Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta has revealed that Everton target Emmanuel Dennis will leave the club if a sizeable offer arrives.

The Toffees have been in the market to sign a striker, especially after the departure of Richarlison who joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Giaretta, while talking to Watford Observer, revealed that the player is eager to leave the club but Watford will be more than happy to keep him if there is no sizeable offer on the table.

“It’s highly likely that if they [Sarr and Dennis] are here when the season starts, they will be available for first-team games if Rob chooses to select them,” he said.

“They would like to leave and have been looking at potential moves, but they are not causing us any problems. They are not banging on our door to get away as soon as they can.

“They will stay at the club if the market doesn’t deliver something we think is acceptable, in the same way Sarr stayed with us the last time we were in the Championship.”

Worthy striker

Dennis has proved himself as a versatile striker, known for his physical nature and insane work ethic. He usually tends to occupy the advanced roles but he also can come deep and support his sitting midfielders.

As the Nigeria international has made it clear that he doesn’t want to stay at Vicarage Road this summer, there are suitors who are keeping an eye on the situation regarding the future of the striker.

Everton

Everton manager Frank Lampard is looking to add more players after signing defender James Tarkowski last week, at least on the attacking front where the departure of Richarlison has left a big void to be filled by a player.

Dennis could be one beneficial signing as he delivered the goods to the team that suffered relegation during the previous season.
