Everton retain interest in Morgan Gibbs-White despite Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest links

Everton are reportedly still keen on signing Wolves attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Nottingham Forest are also interested in him and are keeping a close eye on any developments.

The Toffees saw their first bid £25million turned down but they are still set to continue their pursuit and try to sign him this summer.

Worth pursuing?

Goals from midfield have come at a premium over the last few years for Everton and creativity has been close to non existent.

Even when technical players like Donny van de Beek were signed, they were put on the bench or played in a deeper role.

If the club are serious about their pursuit of Gibbs-White, they’ve got to play him as close to the opposition goal as possible.

His talents will be ruined if he’s played 50 yards away from goal and Fank Lampard – a midfielder who loved scoring goals, should understand that.

If he sees bits of his old self in the 22-year-old, one can understand the eagerness to get the Wolves player over the line.

Hopefully, the two clubs come to an agreement over the transfer fee sooner rather than later and this could see a move materialising.
