Everton must complete signing of versatile Maxwell Cornet as soon as possible

Everton are working hard to find an agreement for Burnley star Maxwell Cornet, according to journalist Fraser Fletcher.

The Toffees are in the market to sign players to strengthen the squad after coming off the back of a horrendous campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.

The Merseyside club have have already signed James Tarkowski for free from the Clarets and it is looking like they are well on their way to signing another player from them.

All-rounder

In the 2021-22 season with Burnley, Cornet scored nine goals and provided one assist. Moreover, he averaged 2.5 shots per goal and had a pass completion of 81% [Whoscored].

As he was one of the few bright sparks in a disappointing season for the Clarets, the Ivory Coast international had a rating of 6.90.

What makes Cornet so special is his versatility as he can play in the front three as an outright winger, in the back four as a left-back or in a system of back three as a left wing-back.

Finding those kinds of players in a transfer market is a commodity nowadays and thus it makes him a perfect fit for the Merseyside club going into the next season.
