Kevin Thelwell remains in UK as Everton squad in USA as transfer plans hit overdrive

Kevin Thelwell has remained in the UK to work on numerous new Everton transfers, according to i News.

The online source shared the update on their website as Frank Lampard and his squad jetted out to the USA for their pre-season camp in the USA, with work well underway.

Farhad Moshiri has promised to back Lampard and Thelwell in this window, although James Tarkowski on a free is the only confirmed piece of business done so far.

Writing in his latest column for i News, Mark Douglas shared what plans are underway while the squad continues to work hard on their preparations.

“But the need for further reinforcements for Lampard is clear,” he wrote.

“It’s understood Thelwell has remained in the UK to work on transfer deals.”

The main part to take from this is that Thelwell is working on deals, not just one deal.

Lampard will be desperate for numerous transfers to improve his squad, and all areas could do with a refresh with Richarlison’s exit making it possible finaicially.

Of course, the financial fair play rules are still hanging over our heads, so Premier League approval is said to be needed before we can throw any money.

Morgan Gibbs-White of Wolves is the one name that continnues to be thrown around, and Thelwell will know the midfielder from his time at the club.

That looks to be the one that Everton want done before the squad return from the USA, so it will be interesting to see if Lampard will get his man.

With Thelwell working on numerous deals though over the next couple of weeks, we could see more than just the midifelder arriving, with another striker desperately needed too.
