Sky Sports pundit tired of waiting for Morgan Gibbs-White, tells Everton to move on
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
If Everton can’t afford to sign Morgan Gibbs-White then it is time for them to move onto “plan B”, according to a frustrated Kevin Campbell.
The Toffees have had a £25million bid rejected for the 22-year-old, with Sky Sports suggesting Wolves are pushing the price up because they know the club has a history of overspending.
It is one of a number of transfer pursuits that have so far been unsuccessful during the summer window, and with time ticking down before the start of the 2022/23 campaign Sky Sports pundit Campbell believes the club have to face facts and try another avenue.

As to whether the club need to move on if they are being messed about in the market Campbell responded emphatically to Goodison News: “Yeah!
“Listen, at the end of the day it’s that simple. If you value a player at maybe £20million and the selling club value him at £25million, if you can’t meet in the middle say, then you move on.
“It’s that simple.
“Unfortunately Everton don’t have the deep pockets they had in previous transfer windows to do business.
“So if you can’t afford it you’ve just got to go to plan B.”

In years past this deal would no doubt have been completed weeks ago, and potentially for a higher price than it should have been.
Not only can the club not pay such fees now but suggestions that they are being squeezed in negotiations because of their reduced circumstances have come up in both the Gibbs-White talks and the negotiations with Tottenham to sell Richarlison now.
Unless there is movement soon for the player who had great success on loan at Sheffield United last term then there will be no option but to admit defeat and attempt to strengthen another way.
