Morgan Gibbs-White wants to fight for Wolves place as Everton chase transfer
Everton may have to admit defeat in their chase of Morgan Gibbs-White who now wants to fight for his place at Wolves, according to The Guardian.
The Toffees are rivalling Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace for the 22-year-old’s signature but Wolverhampton Wanderers want to receive upwards of £25million to allow their academy graduate to leave this summer.
But the transfer fee may not matter anyway because Gibbs-White’s preference would be the stay at Molineux and make his impact on the Premier League on gold rather than blue.

Nottingham Forest are also looking at the England Under-17 World Cup winner but they have just signed Jesse Lingard which could rule them out of the hunt.
Gibbs-White contributed to 20 goals for Sheffield United last season as he broke through on loan at Bramall Lane and nearly helped the Blades back into the Premier League, suffering a playoff semi-final defeat to Forest.
Let off
This could be the biggest get-out-of-jail-free card Everton will receive this summer because Gibs-White is not good enough to make a proper impact in the Premier League.
For the amount of money he would cost, Frank Lampard would want him to be the main man in attacking midfield who would match his Championship goals and assists tally but he would also be up against much sterner defences.

He is going to get found out in the Premier League whether it be with Wolves, Palace, Forest of the Toffees and if anyone spends £25million on him, they will regret it very quickly.
Everton do not have the money available to waste on an unproven player like he is and especially not after such a poor 2021-22 campaign where they barely escaped relegation after a late-season surge.
The Merseyside radar needs to be realigned to focus on more important moves with the new season rapidly approaching.
