Everton now locked in talks to sign Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker
Everton have now held initial transfer talks over a move to sign Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported in its print edition [July 23, pg. 111] that a deal is yet to develop but is on the cards as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad.
Fabrizio Romano first shared the news of Toffees’ interest in the Belgian international, who is said to be admired by the board as well as the manager.

Writing in his daily Window Watch snippet for the Daily Mail, Simon Jones shared numerous Everton updates as they start to put their foot down in the market.
“Everton have held initial talks for Wolves’ Belgium midfielder Leander Dendoncker, 28, but a move is still to develop,” he shared.

Get it done.
Everton are crying out for a new holding midfielder, it is as simple as that.
Allan proved that he simply isn’t enough in that role last season during the relegation scrap and he needs someone either behind him or alongside in that midfield three.
With Abdoulaye Doucoure and Alex Iwobi both playing in that midfield but with more attacking mindsets, that defensive player is needed to come in.
Dendoncker would fit that role perfectly.
The Belgian international is physically menacing, but he can also add to our threat from set-pieces alongside the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Yerry Mina.
The move would surely appeal to Dendoncker too, who is in the heart of the Wolves’ rotation plan, which sees him in and out of the squad frequently.
Everton would offer a guaranteed spot every week, and that is something that Lampard must use to his advantage as he looks to get this deal over the line.
