Burnley want clubs to pay £17.5m to sign Everton target Maxwel Cornet
Burnley want Everton to meet Maxwel Cornet’s release clause of £17.5 million in one go, according to the Daily Mail.
It has been reported that Toffees are one of the clubs interested in making a move for the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The Merseyside club have already tabled a loan offer with an option of paying £20million next summer to sign the Ivory Coast international which was rejected by the club.

As per the latest report, the Clarets want clubs to pay Cornet’s release clause if they are keen on signing the player.
Goalscoring Midfielder
In a very disappointing season for Burnley in 2021-22, which made them lose not just their Premier League status but also long-term serving manager Sean Dyche, one of the brightest spots for the club was Cornet.
Despite the problems the Clarets had throughout the season, the Ivory Coast international scored nine goals and provided one assist in 25 Premier League appearances.
He averaged 1.8 shots, 0.9 aerial duels, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in the Premier League [Whoscored].

Despite the problems Everton had recently, they are still a much better outfit than Burnley and therefore, the 25-year-old would definitely improve if he secures a move to Goodison Park.
He can play on the left and right side of the midfield and supply crosses into the box for the strikers which would be ideal for someone like Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Everton have been rather slow in the transfer market as they’ve only signed centre-back James Tarkowski on a free and therefore, manager Frank Lampard must ensure that they don’t let the chance go of singing a player of Cornet’s quality.
