Everton target Maxwel Cornet future decision to be made this week with Burnley exit set
Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet will reportedly see a decision made over his future this weekend amid links with Everton.
According to BBC journalist Fraser Fletcher, the Toffees and a number of clubs are in talks to sign him and he’s set to leave Turf Moor this summer.
It’s understood that Fulham and Nottingham Forest are also pushing hard to secure his services and the best offer will be the winner and that should be decided in the coming days.
Via Twitter, Fletcher wrote, “Maxwel Cornet future will be decided this week I’m told, he will leave Burnley.
“Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Everton and 1 more unnamed club are in talks for the Burnley player, All pushing hard and keen on securing, best offer wins.”
Snap him up
The Toffees desperately need a wide attacker and in Cornet, they will be getting someone who is a jack of all trades.
He can play as a left-back, wing-back and also a striker and can fill in wherever Frank Lampard needs him to.
He’s also a good penalty taker – making him an extremely important transfer target for the Toffees this summer.
Given the teams interested in him, Everton are clearly the best placed to secure his services and hopefully, they can cough up the funds to sign him.
The Toffees are believed to be left frustrated by the lack of progress in the Cornet deal and now need to remain patient as these are key days in the pursuit and we should have a clearer answer by the start of August.
