Everton make contact with agent of Emmanuel Dennis, turn noses up at £20m pricetag

Everton have made contact with the agent of Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis this summer, according to Ryan Taylor on Tuesday (26 July).

The Express journalist has reported that the Toffees are among many parties including West Ham who have turned their noses up at the £20million valuation so far.

It is shared that no clubs are yet to indicate a willingness to even make any kind of concrete offer, with Dennis set to stay at Vicarage Road as things stand.

Writing in his latest column for the Express, Taylor shared updates as the Toffees looking to bring in a new talisman to Goodison Park this summer.

“Emmanuel Dennis’ prospects of an immediate return to the Premier League remain up in the air as interested parties continue to turn their noses up at Watford’s £20m valuation of the striker,” he wrote.

“Dennis has been the subject of enquiries from a number of Premier League clubs this summer with West Ham, Southampton, Everton and Nottingham Forest among the clubs to have held discussions with his agent Drew Uyi.

“But so far, none have indicated their willingness to make a concrete offer and unless Watford slash their asking price, that is unlikely to change.”

Caught up.

Farhad Moshiri has that money, and in years gone by, he would have fired it the way of Watford without even taking a split-second to think about it.

Now, all of that spending has caught up with him and deals such as this either need approval from the Premier League or they simply don’t happen.

Dennis has a similar personality to Richarlison, who he would replace if he did come in.

The Nigerian international has that fiery streak, and it does get him in trouble sometimes, but it can also be a good trait that can get the fans on side and the team pumped up in games.

One big moment whether a tackle, a run on the ball, or a goal is something that Dennis can bring, but that price would have to come down dramatically.

Another option would be a loan-to-buy deal, and it looks as though the Toffees and Kevin Thelwell may be going down that route the longer the window goes on.

This is certainly still one to watch for Everton.
