Ruben Vinagre agrees to join Everton on loan with buy option – Fabrizio Romano
Everton are seriously interested in signing Ruben Vinagre from Sporting CP and the player has agreed to the move, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees are looking into a loan deal with an option to buy the 23-year-old according to Record [July 26], who spent four years with Wolves before returning to his homeland last summer.
But after just one season with Sporting the club are now willing to let him leave, and Kevin Thelwell has moved to agree a deal for a player he knows very well from Molineux.
Now the hugely reliable Fabrizio Romano says that the player has already accepted the move to Merseyside, with the two clubs now just discussing the terms of the buy option.
Quick
This looks like a move that has come about quickly and Everton have moved to get it done as soon as possible in order to strengthen their squad.
Vitalii Mykolenko has established himself as the first-choice left-back at the club since arriving in January under Rafa Benitez’s tutelage, with great delivery and energy up and down the flank.

But with Jonjoe Kenny leaving this summer and Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey naturally centre backs, Lampard is looking to bring in some cover for the left-back position.
The deal is likely to see the future of Niels Nkounkou be questioned, after he returned from a loan spell away last season to feature in pre-season.
But he obviously hasn’t done enough to convince the manager that he’s capable of being that understudy for the season and now Vinagre is set for a return to the Premier League after a year away from England’s top flight.
