Everton want to sign talismanic Rennes attacker Martin Terrier
Everton have now entered the heated Premier League race to sign Stade Rennes attacker Martin Terrier, according to the Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
The 25-year-old enjoyed his best ever season in Ligue 1 in 2021-22, scoring 21 goals and being nominated for the division’s player of the year and his stock has never been higher.
The Toffees have registered their interest with the side who finished fourth in France’s top flight last season but they are not alone in the hunt for the player who Sky Sports pundit Tom Williams loves to watch.
“He’s a very quick, left-sided right-footed attacking player whose trademark is coming in off the left flank and whipping shots in, a-la Thierry Henry,” he said on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.
Along with Everton, Leeds United are equally interested in the 25-year-old and West Ham United were also keen but their recent purchase of Gianluca Scamacca is likely to rule them out of the race.

Only Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder scored more goals than Terrier in Ligue 1 last season and with him being in the form of his life, Everton need to act now to ensure they can get the best out of him and fill the hole Richarlison has left.
Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United won’t hang around as they have already proven over the off-season so if there is any real interest, the club need to act upon it now.
