Ruben Vinagre joins Everton, will wear number 29 shirt
Ruben Vinagre has signed his Everton contract and is officially a Toffees player for the 2022/23 season, according to journalist Pedro Sepulveda.
Reports of Everton’s interest in the player first broke on Tuesday [July 26] as Record reported a loan agreement was close, before Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Tuesday that the player was at Finch Farm to undergo a medical.
Record then confirmed a medical had been completed and that an announcement was imminent, before Sepulveda confirmed a loan-to-buy deal had been signed with the player given the number 29 shirt.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said; “Ruben Vinagre is already a Everton player. The [defender] has already signed a contract in Liverpool and should be made official in the next few hours.
“Sporting loaned the player with an option to buy at the end of the season. Rúben Vinagre will wear jersey number 29.”
Perfect
Why can’t every Everton transfer saga be this simple and easy?
Vinagre was quick to agree, Everton were quick to identify the player as a potential option to help cover and compete with Vitalii Mykolenko at left-back.
His Premier League experience is a vital piece of information in this deal as it means there is less adaptation time needed for the player, considering the gap in time between now and the start of the season.

With no money spent on the deal outside of wages for now it does continue concerns about the club’s financial situation and whether or not they’ll be able to spend big this summer to bolster the squad.
However fans can be happy that work is clearly going on behind the scenes right now and things can change in an instant.
With the Premier League season less than two weeks away, lets hope there is more to come between now and then.
