Everton: Marco Silva reveals Marcel Brands did not agree with Farhad Moshiri sack decision
Former Everton manager Marco Silva has dropped a huge bombshell about the way he was sacked as manager of the Toffees in 2019.
The Portuguese head coach is now in charge of Fulham having led them to promotion from the Championship and is looking to take revenge on his former boss Farhad Moshiri for the decision to sack him.
The Everton owner took matters into his own hands to chop Silva from the hot seat but in an interview with Record, the Cottagers boss has revealed that sporting director at the time Marcel Brands was not on board with the decision.

“The sporting director admitted that he was against the decision, with the players fully involved with the coach, but the decision was up to the owner,” Silva said.
“The year before we also had bad results and we beat that moment of the season and it would happen again in the second season.
“They are a club with a tremendous fan base, with a full stadium and great support even away from home. They have won many titles in the past and they are a club very much based on that heritage, in a city passionate about football and with a tremendous rivalry with Liverpool.”
Unsurprising
Moshiri making a decision on his own without any input from anyone is not something that will come as a shock to many Evertonians given what has gone on over the past few years.

It is no secret that Silva was not getting the results required at the time of his sacking but should there be such an immediate trigger action when form starts to go downhill?
There are loads of examples of clubs who were patient with their managers and reaped the rewards further down the line and that could have been Everton with Silva.
His leadership of Hull City, which urged Moshiri to appoint him in the first place, and since at Craven Cottage is more than enough to prove that he is a very good manager but he never got the chance to show it at Goodison Park.
Had he remained in charge, there is the possibility that this club could be battling the likes of West Ham and Leicester to break into the European places rather than surviving relegation by the skin of their teeth.
