Everton set to sign Amadou Onana with document signing completed

Everton are reportedly on the cusp of finalising their biggest transfer of the summer as they look set to announce Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.

According to former BBC journalist Fraser Fletcher, the 20-year-old is now set to become a Toffees player with all the formalities completed.

The Belgium international has already completed his medical and everything is in place for him to be officially unveiled.

Via Twitter, Fletcher wrote, “Amadou Onana officially a Toffee. Deal was already done but medical and paperwork all completed, Everton focus on next signings.”

Big moves

The documents being signed is the next logical step after Lille president Bafode Diakite dropped a major update on the player’s future.

He said, “We are very well advanced with regard to the departure of Amadou, who is in Manchester today to pass the medical examination.

“Theoretically, the documents should be signed during the day. We are there as we speak.

“His departure was not planned in the initial plans but the circumstances, the will of the player, the level of proposal from the club, which also demonstrates the quality of the boy and which makes it possible to congratulate the work of the recruitment cell.”

It seems like the documents which needed to be signed have now been signed and the formalities have all been cleared.

Frank Lampard himself admitted that a deal was close and he definitely would not have said anything had it not been a foregone conclusion already.

Hopefully, he’s registered in time so that he will be available for the game against Aston Villa next weekend.
