Everton want to sign Serhou Guirassy after Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury woes
Everton are studying the possibility of signing Rennes striker Serhou Guirassy following Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s latest injury, according to L’Equipe.
Calvert-Lewin was ruled out for six weeks after a training ground injury and missed the Toffees’ 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on the opening day, with Frank Lampard forced to use Anthony Gordon and Dele Alli as makeshift strikers.
But now they are looking to sign an established centre-forward to ease their striker woes and Rennes forward Guirassy has emerged as a target with the Ligue 1 club open to a sale according to a report [August 7].

Guirassy scored nine goals in the league last season despite limited playing time and is keen to move on for more regular football this season.
There has been no official approach or talks yet between the clubs, but Rennes have already lined up Ludovic Ajorque as a potential replacement. He has also been linked with an £18m move to Goodison Park this summer.
Profile
Calvert-Lewin is a rare breed of striker who stands at well over 6ft tall, but is incredibly mobile and athletic to make him a perfect target man in attack.
It’s hard to replicate that, however it seems to be quite clear that Everton are targeting someone similar to come in and bolster their options with these most recent links.
Guirassy is 6ft 2, Ajorque is 6ft 6 and another striker Sasa Kalajdzic stands at 6ft 7 and all are fairly mobile and comfortable with the ball at their feet too.

It will be nigh on impossible to directly replace Calvert-Lewin with the funds available to Everton currently, but what this shows is that there is a clear tactical plan including him and they want any transition without him to be seamless.
No fee is mentioned but it’s unlikely to be too high for a player who would ultimately be back-up if and when the team is at full strength, but with a week before the next game fans will be hoping it can be done between now and then to give us the best chance of a win.
