Everton negotiate deal for Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres
Everton are currently negotiating a deal for Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres, as per Leonard Jägerskiöld.
The TV4/Cmore journalist has reported on Twitter (9 August) that the 24-year-old striker is on his way to the Premier League,
The journalist also works for the podcast Football’s Coming Home, and they report that the Toffees are in talks to sign the Sweden international.

Football’s Coming Home tweeted (9 August): “Viktor Gyökeres is negotiating with Everton. The Swedish striker, who scored 17 goals for Coventry last season, thus looks set to leave the Championship for the Premier League.”
Leonard Jägerskiöld further added on Twitter: “According to reliable sources for the podcast, Viktor Gyökeres is on his way to the Premier League!”
Interesting move
The Swedish striker has been playing in the Championship for the past three years.
Last season (2021-22) was arguably his best where he scored 18 goals in all competitions, including 17 in the Championship.
He has made a brilliant start to the new campaign and scored a screamer in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
He has made seven appearances for the Swedish national team and has two goals to his name as well.

Everton badly need a striker this summer. Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains the only striker at the club and he is currently out injured. Lewis Dobbin and Ellis Simms have been shipped out on loan to get regular experience.
Managers have often signed from lower leagues and they have turned out to be a huge success.
Everton are working on a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, as per INews (9 August) but getting in on board is proving to be really difficult. Gyokeres could be tempted to move to the Premier League, and Coventry could be interested in doing business with the Toffees if the offer is right.
