Everton

The report said: “Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque is attracting major interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

“Everton, Wolves, Leicester, and Brentford are among the teams keen on the 28-year-old centre-forward with Strasbourg bracing themselves for offers.”

It is also understood that Strasbourg are ready to sell Ajorque but want £18million for the forward.

Good signing for Everton?

The 28-year-old, who started his career at French club Angers would be a signing that would add depth to the Everton attack.

The former Clerment Foot 63 striker has scored goals where he has been, recording a career goal scoring rate of a goal every 3.2 games. throughout his career.

He has scored 50 goals in 139 Strasbourg appearances and has also provided 19 assists during that time, which is a telling statistic about his player profile.

His height also means he would add another attacking dimension as he is a different sort of target man than Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Also, with the Englishman’s injury woes, Everton would now have a backup striker much better than current occupier of that role, Salomon Rondon.

He would relieve some of the goalscoring pressure from Calvert-Lewin, allowing him to regain fitness as well as not resorting Frank Lampard to starting Anthony Gordon up front like he had to against Chelsea on the 6 August.

Last season , he scored 12 league goals in 36 games, and a healthy goalscoring rate like that would be welcomed at Goodison Park, at a club that is dire need of goals.

In other Everton news, Southampton made a last-ditch move to sign Conor Coady before he signed for the Toffees.
