Everton talks progressing well to sign Rennes forward Serhou Guirassy
Everton are in talks to sign Rennes forward Serhou Guirassy on loan, as per Benjamin Quarez.
The Le Parisien journalist reported on Twitter on 10 August that the Toffees are hoping to “conclude” a deal for the 26-year-old forward.
The player is getting closer to a move to the Premier League, and the deal could happen after the arrival of Arnaud Kalimuendo.
Quarez wrote on Twitter: “Rennes: Serhou Guirassy is getting closer to the Premier League. Discussions for a loan to Everton are progressing well and could succeed after the arrival of Arnaud Kalimuendo.”
Get it done
The Toffees badly need to sign a striker this summer, and it seems they are keen to land Guirassy on loan.
Kalimuendo is reportedly set to move to Britanny which means Rennes could be open to doing a deal for the striker.
Despite an encouraging performance on the opening day 1-0 against Chelsea, there were signs that the Toffees were badly missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin who remains the only striker at the club.

The Toffees have been checking on Armando Broja of Chelsea but they find it really difficult to pull off a deal at the moment.
Guirassy is a fantastic goalscorer. He scored 11 goals last season, and 13 goals in 2020-21.
Ideally, Lampard would have wanted Broja at the club, but he won’t mind getting Guirassy on loan as well.
