Amadou Onana trains with new Everton teammates for first time at Finch Farm ahead of clash v Aston Villa
Amadou Onana has trained with his new Everton teammates for the first time ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Midlands to play Aston Villa, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper reports that Onana, 20, was spotted taking part in his first training session as an Everton player on Thursday (11 August) despite joining the Merseyside club from Lille on Tuesday (9 August).
Onana was at Goodison Park last week to watch the defeat to Chelsea but he’s finally settling down at Finch Farm and he “could make his debut against Villa this weekend”.

Throw him straight in
Frank Lampard would no doubt loved to have signed Onana earlier in the summer so that he could have got a pre-season under his belt at Goodison Park.
However, beggars cannot be choosers and we have to be happy that the deal was done at all – regardless of the season already being underway.
It’s odd that Onana has only just started training and that could delay a debut for the Belgium international.
However, if Lampard feels he’s ready to play then he should not hesitate to throw him straight into the mix against Aston Villa on Saturday.

It might have to be a substitute appearance for Onana but we would expect him to be a regular starter soon enough once he’s bedded in at Goodison, got used to the tactics and created chemistry with his new teammates.
Conor Coady has also joined the Blues this week and has already been in training.
There’s more of a chance he’ll be in the starting line-up at Villa due to injuries suffered by Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina last week against Chelsea.
