Everton must sign both Serhou Guirassy and Che Adams this summer

Everton need to sign strikers this summer, and they are reportedly in contact to bring both Serhou Guirassy and Che Adams to Goodison Park.

The Toffees suffered a big blow before the start of their new campaign after Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up an injury that will rule him out for four to six weeks.

Calvert-Lewin remains the only striker at the club, after the Toffees decided to let Lewis Dobbin and Ellis Simms move out on loan.

Thus, signing a new striker has become a top priority. The Toffees have shown strong interest in Armando Broja, but Chelsea are unlikely to let the striker go, even on loan.

Fabrice Hawkins of RTL France shared on Twitter on 10 August that the Toffees have made an opening loan bid with an option to sign Guirassay permanently.

Rennes have rejected the opening offer as they want a direct transfer, but there is a feeling that the deal could be done.

Benjamin Quarez of Le Parisien reported on Twitter on 10 August that the player is getting closer to the Premier League, and that talks are progressing well.

Guirassy has scored over double figures in the past two seasons, and the 26-year-old is approaching the peak years of his career. He would be a fantastic addition to the club.

However, Everton must look to add Adams as well. As per Fraser Fletcher, an approach has been made to sign the Southampton striker, although the Saints are quite reluctant to sell him.

The Toffees could face strong competition from the likes of Leeds United and Wolves, but they must get him on board.

One might point out that Adams is not a prolific scorer. His record in the Premier League is not envious, so signing him could be a gamble.

There is another way to look at the situation. Everton need to be realistic, and they must rebuild the club again after narrowly escaping relegation last season.

Calvert-Lewin is still there and he is expected to score a bulk of goals. However, if Adams and Guirassy combined can add 20-26 goals, the Toffees can expect to finish within the top 10 this season, if not higher.

Adams has got Premier League experience, and given proper support, he can score plenty. He has shown in the past that he is capable of scoring over 20 goals in a season, so Lampard definitely can hope to get the best out of him.
