Kevin Campbell believes Everton suffering v Aston Villa down to having no strikers

Kevin Campbell believes Everton not having an outright striker is proving to be the difference in the match against Aston Villa.

The Toffees are 1-0 down at halftime in their second match of the Premier League at Villa Park on Saturday, courtesy of a strike from Danny Ings in the 32nd minute.

Campbell, while speaking on BBC Radio, stated that the major difference between the sides is that the home team have two strikers whereas the visitors have none.

“You can see the difference between the teams,” he said. “Villa have two strikers at the top pitch who know what they’re doing.”

Concerning

Everton would’ve been hoping for a much better start to their Premier League campaign than the one they are having.

They’ve already lost the opening fixture while playing at home against Chelsea whereas they are trailing by a goal at half-time.

Everton

It is clear that the Toffees are struggling with having no outright strikers playing for the second week running. Richarlison has already left the club and joined Tottenham Hotspur, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out of action for a considerable amount of time whereas it seems that the manager has little faith in Solomon Rondon.

It is because of this reason the Merseyside club are playing young Anthony Gordon as a striker but everyone knows that his not the best position for him as well.

Therefore, it is imperative that not only Everton try and get at least a point out of this game but also ensure the signing of an outright striker before the next week.
