Frank Lampard interested in swap deal after Chelsea submit bid for Everton midfielder Anthony Gordon

Everton are considering the options as there is a possibility of doing deals that involve players, according to a report from 90 Min.

The website reported on 15 August that the Toffees are interested in a host of Chelsea players including Michy Batshuayi, Billy Gilmour, Conor Gallagher, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley.

Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian wrote on Twitter on 14 August that the Blues are discussing internally making a new proposal for Gordon after their opening bid was rejected.

Interesting

Everton need more bodies before the end of the transfer window, and Frank Lampard is reportedly looking at several options.

While the likes of Gallagher and Gilmour will add tremendous depth and quality to their midfielder, the Toffees are highly unlikely to part ways with Gordon.

The 21-year-old established himself in the first-team squad last season, and he is now one of the key players for the Toffees boss. Unless Chelsea come up with a monster bid, Everton are unlikely to entertain any offers.

The swap deal is interesting though. Gallagher particularly will be a terrific addition to the club, but he prefers to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.

Bolstering the forward department is key as well, and a move for either Batshuayi or Hudson-Odoi makes sense, but Everton doesn’t really need to sell Gordon to fund their moves.

Having already sold a top player in Richarlison, losing Gordon in the same window would be a massive blow for the club.
