Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz open to move amid Everton link

Everton find themselves in a “transfer battle” with a host of clubs to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz, as per talkSPORT.

Frank Lampard is desperate to bolster his forward options before the end of the window and has earmarked the Chilean, who could be seen as a “replacement for Richarlison”, who joined Tottenham this summer.

The report adds that the 23-year-old striker is “open to a move” to the Premier League.

Decent addition

The Toffees badly need to sign a forward in the next few days with Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently out injured.

Everton are trying their best to keep hold of Anthony Gordon, but Chelsea are making life difficult with big offers for him, both being rejected.

Ben Brereton Diaz would be a fantastic addition. First, his age. He is fast approaching the peak years of his career, and it is the perfect time to reap the best years from him.

Secondly, he is proving to be a prolific striker. Last season, he netted 22 goals in the Championship and has scored two goals in his first three appearances for Blackburn this season.

While repeating the same feat in the Premier League is a different question, he gives the impression of a player who can adjust himself at the top level.

And finally, he is versatile. He can play on the left wing and through the middle. He js ready to leave the club, and Everton must bring him to the club, asap.
