“Obviously, it was different for me being at Rangers all my career and then moving away from home,” he said. “It was difficult. But it was an exciting challenge, and I feel like I’ve settled in quite well.

“It took a bit of time to get to know all the different lads and the coaching staff, but I’ve enjoyed my time here so far.

“It was difficult (to leave), but I think it was quite an easy decision to come to the best league in the world. There was no second thought for me to be honest, and a massive club like Everton made it an easy decision.”

Everton are famous for turning youngsters into world beaters just like they did in the past with Wayne Rooney and now with Anthony Gordon who is heavily linked with a move away to Chelsea.

Looking at the club’s tradition, it was imperative that manager Frank Lampard must continue the practice and bring in players who are ready to give their all and signing someone like Patterson is a step in that direction.

Ever since joining the club in the previous window, Patterson doesn’t had a chance to showcase his talent until the start of the ongoing campaign where he played full 90 minutes in both matches [Transfermarkt].

When the Merseyside club are looking set to lose another of their star players, it is important that Lampard must give the Scotland international an extended run to cement his place in the starting XI which would be really helpful for the side in the long run.
