Permanent Everton deal on cards as Brighton don’t want to loan out Neal Maupay

Brighton only want a permanent transfer to sell Neal Maupay this summer as Everton take a good look, according to Sky Sports.

The reliable outlet has reported that Fulham are looking for a loan and Nottingham Forest are in talks over a £15million transfer, with the Toffees waiting in the wings.

It was reported earlier in the week by The Athletic that Frank Lampard had actually made contact with the Frenchman as he looks to bring him to Goodison Park.

Writing on their live transfer blog [18 August, 12:42 pm], Sky Sports shared the latest as Fulham made their move over a potential loan deal.

“Fulham have held initial talks over a loan move for Brighton striker Neal Maupay,” they wrote.

“Brighton want to do a permanent deal as he’s entered final year of his contract.

“Nottingham Forest had also been in talks over a £15m move. Maupay one of a number of strikers Everton are looking at too.”

Everton

Race.

So, it looks as though Brighton have set out their stall to everyone interested in this one.

Of course, Maupay will get a say on his preferred move, whether that be to a promoted club or Everton, one of the biggest Premier League clubs there is.

Having said that, the Toffees or whoever else would need to meet the demands of the Seagulls, which looks to be around £15million as things stand.

Can Farhad Moshiri pay that off right now after big deals for Dwight McNeil and Amadou Onana, or will someone such as Anthony Gordon have to leave for big money first?

We hope not, but the need for a new number nine is becoming a desperate one at this moment in time.

Lampard will know that, and that is why he is making contact with potential options to come in and solve the issue for Everton, with everything crossed that he can achieve that.
