Everton set to sign Mohammed Kudus on loan from Ajax

Everton are “set to sign” Mohammed Kudus from Dutch giants Ajax, as per Paul Joyce.

The Times journalist reported on Twitter on 19 August that the Toffees are all set to sign him on loan initially, with a view to making a move permanent.

The Ghana international is a versatile forward who can also play in the no 10 role.

Joyce wrote on Twitter: “Everton are set to sign Mohammed Kudus on loan from Ajax with view to permanent. Ghana international, 22, he can play No10.”

Brilliant signing

The Toffees are in the market to bolster their forward department following the departure of Richarlison.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently out injured and the Toffees are without a proper striker at the moment.

Anthony Gordon, who played in the false nine role so far, has been targeted by Chelsea, but Frank Lampard is adamant that the player is not for sale.

Kudus is a highly-talented young player but he has struggled to make a strong impact at Ajax. He has started Ajax’s opening two games this season on the bench, and it seems the club is now ready to let him go.

He joined Ajax in the summer of 2020 and has now made 45 total appearances for the club.

The Toffees have also shown interest in a host of strikers like Che Adams, Armando Broja and Ben Brereton Diaz, and it remains to be seen if they can add any more strikers to their ranks before the end of the window.
