Frank Lampard tightlipped over possibility of Everton signing PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye

Frank Lampard has refused to give any further update on the possibility of Everton signing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move back to Goodison Park in the ongoing transfer window after having a hard time in getting first-team minutes under his belt in Paris [90min].

When asked during the press talk on Friday about whether the player will join the Toffees in the ongoing transfer window, Lampard remained tight-lipped.

“He’s a player for PSG,” said the Everton manager. “It’s as simple as that. You can draw your own conclusions.”

Not encouraging

Everton came into the transfer market hoping to sign players for many positions. With less than 15 days remaining in the window, they have made some notable additions to the squad.

However, few positions are still demanding more reinforcement in the ongoing transfer window for ensuring that the Merseyside club will not have a similar campaign like the last one where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.

Therefore, those words of Lampard will not give Everton fans the kind of hope they would want considering the arrival of Idrissa Gueye would have been nothing short of ideal for the side where there is a clear lack of experience.
